Create Dictionary Index
This feature will automatically create an index in alphabetical
order for you. The index may be created or updated at any time
while you are making your new dictionary. Select your dictionary by
clicking on the drop down arrow in the input source section. Click
on OK to create the index.
- Index words must be located in the first line after the book
number marker and in bolded format.
Example:
$$$ 1
\\A\\ \^a\^ (aleph), the first letter in the Hebrew alphabet.
$$$ 2
\\Aaron\\ Eldest son of Amram and Jochebed, of the tribe of
Levi.
$$$ 3
\\Aaronic Priesthood\\
The first thought in priesthood is that those appointed might
minister to the Lord in the priests' office, that they might be a
company in nearness to and in communion with the Lord.
$$$ 4
\\Aaronites\\
The descendants of Aaron. \\#1Ch 12:27 27:17\\.
$$$ 5
\\Ab\\ See Months.
In the above example the index created would be -
$Index
"1" A
"2" Aaron
"3" Aaronic Priesthood
"4" Aaronites
"5" Ab
Hint:
If the numbers in your index are not in order it
will be because the words were not in alphabetical order. Watch for
entries such as "The Ark" which may be sorted under "T" but may be
in the "A" section of your dictionary. Change the bolded text to
"Ark, The" and re-create the index.
