Using the Screen Reader
Features
- Autosizes captions in buttons and labels to make sure they
always fit.
- Left justifies text for Listbox, Drive, Directory and File
boxes
- Includes TEdit fields that are Read Only in the tab sequence.
Normally they are not in the tab sequence.
- A Directory in a Directory box may be opened or closed by
pressing the space bar.
- An entry may be selected or deselected in the Preselect
Versions or Preselect Notes form by pressing the space bar.
- A menu item can be selected either by using its shortcut key or
by pressing the Tab key until the item receives focus.
- Selects a text tool bar that does not use icons.
The screen reader JAWS was used to test the program. JAWS uses
the position of the cursor to read the text.
The tab key is used to move the cursor from item to item and the
space bar is used to select or deselect an item.
In a window containing text the cursor position is at the start
of each line.
Hint:
Some readers like JAWS do not handle the tab order
or the check Listbox control properly. Please consult your
vendor.
