I do not use {} around any text because of the font size change.  I exclusively use parentheses for my reading ease.  If I should BOLD/Underline (basically alter the text in any way), any parentheses that I have previously typed automatically change to brackets {} when I save/exit.   Is there a way to avoid this so that the parentheses remain?

Any help would be appreciated.
