Online Bible on Ubuntu
Quote from Henry on March 25, 2022, 2:11 pmI have been using Online Bible since the 1990s, mostly on Windows.
Recently - during the past year or so, i have been using it on Ubuntu 18.04, under WINE 7.0. Mostly it was satisfactory. However, as the old saying is, "All good things come to an end".
I have not been able to edit my personal notes, or add to an existing personal note. When I do, I can type the new part in to the editor screen, but not save with Ctrl-Z. What happens is a bit strange. An error window appears with the following message:
"IOLib.IOSeek 103 File not open. Reported by Close File, Read Write, Seek, Eof, File Pos, File Size, Flush, Block Read, or Block Write if the file is not open. File:C:\users\Public\Documents\Online Bible\Notes.Map"
<To PRINT this message PASTE it into your Word Processor and print.> (I have never been able to Select the error box & can't Paste it)
And the program stops. But it doesn't really stop, because if I click the X in the upper right, another identical error window appears. The only way I can clear things up is to run the Task Manager, and Kill Olb.Exe.
But it gets stranger yet. I restart OLB, and the text I entered has been added to the notes on the verse I was editing!
I changed the permissions on Notes.Map to allow anyone to open/modify/close, but that didn't work.
If anyone has any thoughts that might help, I would much appreciate it.
Thanks for reading.
